Burnham firefighters called to silo blaze at Highbridge factory

Burnham-On-Sea firefighters were called to a silo blaze at a factory in Highbridge late last night (Monday).

Two fire engines from Burnham were sent to reports of a fire at the firm in Bennett Road at 11pm.

Crews got to work with a CO2 extinguisher and hose reel jets before removing 15 tonnes of sawdust from inside the structure, pictured above.

Crews used thermal image cameras to check for hotspots before the incident was completed at 1.30am this morning (Tuesday). A spokesman said the cause of the fire had been accidental.
