Burnham-On-Sea’s Skye Bar night club set to close this month

-

A prominent night club in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea is set to close at the end of this month, its owners have announced.

Owners George and Katie Panayi say they will open Skye Bar in the High Street for the final time on December 31st.

The couple have been running clubs and bars for ten years and feel now is the right time for a change.

After the New Year, they will be switching their attention to managing their other business, The Galley Cafe.

George told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “After many conversations we both decided at the start of 2013 that this would be our last year.”

“Our decision to leave was very difficult as the club means the world to us both. Shakers/SkyeBar will always hold a special place in my heart – it was at Shakers where I first met my wife Katie back in 2004.”

“We would like to thank all our loyal customers and friends. Your support over the last four years has been amazing.”

“We would also like to say a massive thank you to all our wonderful staff that have worked with us over the years. It has been a pleasure working with you all. Thank you so much for making Skye Bar a success.”

The couple took over the club four years ago and transformed it from the former Shakers night club. The club will be closed while a new owner is sought.
