residents are making final preparations for the arrival of a big
storm in the early hours of Monday morning which looks set to

risk that boats will slip their lines in the high winds and rough
sea conditions, so we've been checking all the mooring lines this
weekend and trying to ensure that everything is secure."

Burnham boat owner, Pete Wright, told us: "I expect the weather
to be far calmer than the forecasters are predicting but I've
moved my motor cruiser up the river into a more sheltered area

Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for the south west,
including the Burnham-On-Sea area, as heavy rain and strong winds
are expected to batter the region from late on Sunday, accompanied
by strengthening winds.
