Burnham group packs survival boxes for Philippines disaster victims

-

Members of Burnham-On-Sea Inner Wheel and Rotary Club have this week packed dozens of survival boxes for victims of the recent Philippines typhoon disaster.

A group of eight local people, pictured, packed just over 60 of the specialised water survival boxes to be sent off to the country, which is recovering after the huge storm.

Club member Sandra Squire said: “We packed the boxes in two hours and it was brilliant to know they are now destined for The Philippines.”

“Not only are we going to provide safe and clean water but also basic cooking utensils, practical DIY materials, shelter items and personal washing items.”
