Tributes have been paid to a brave Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser who has lost her battle with cancer.

Suzie Harris, 29, who was recently featured here during a fundraising event with Joanna Burridge-Clayton and Burnham’s Mayor, has sadly lost her battle with Lymphoma.

Suzie, pictured on the right in October, has passed away at St Margaret’s Hospice in Taunton.

Her family said this week: “Suzie had battled bravely with the disease over the years and had managed to remain positive and strong throughout, living her life fully with love and laughter and always thinking of others.”

“She was keen to raise funds and support charities, as well as encouraging people to think about becoming a bone marrow donor.”

“Even when she had bad news near the time of the fundraiser she was determined for the event to go ahead and attend it.”

“Throughout her life she enjoyed her life with her family and friends, especially her three sons, even when battling huge health issues.”

Donations are still being accepted by Ward 9 at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital and St Margaret’s Hospice in Suzie’s memory.

Joanna said this week: “Along with many others who have loved her dearly I have said goodbye to a dear, brave, funny and determined woman. Suzie was one of the first people I spoke to after I was diagnosed with leukaemia and she was in many ways my guiding light as she went through treatments and experiences ahead of me. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.”
