Burnham-On-Sea’s St Andrew’s School was crowned the winners of the fourth annual Sedgemoor Primary Schools Swimming Gala.

96 children from across the district took part in the event at Burnham Swim and Sports Academy in Berrow Road.

1st place went to St Andrew’s School with 151 points while second was East Huntspill School with 99 points, third was St Joseph’s with 83 points and fourth was Churchfield with 76 points.

St Andrew’s School head teacher Gavin Morris told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are all extremely proud of this achievement and I wish to thank the parents of our team for taking their children to the pool and helping them learn to swim.”

“I would also like to thank Sarah, her husband and their fantastic team for saving the Burnham pool and enabling our community to continue to enjoy and excel in this important sport.”
