Summer tennis school underway at Burnham’s Avenue Tennis Club

-

Scores of youngsters are learning to play tennis whilst having fun as Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club holds its annual summer school holiday club.

Head Coach Vinny Duddy said: “We have had a great turnout so far with quite a few new kids who had never been to the club.”

“I think that Andy Murray’s recent Wimbledon win and our school visits have encouraged them to come along and give tennis a go.”

The holiday club continues throughout the school holiday apart from 19th – 23rd August when the club have their annual adults and junior open tournaments.

Parents wanting to get their children doing some healthy sport and activities during the long break can book their children in for 1-14 days of tennis coaching by calling 01278 782758.

The new adult membership deal of half price membership, together with six group tennis lessons, is continuing for the rest of the summer and anyone wishing to take advantage of the offer should call the club or come along and see the coaches.

The Avenue Tennis Club will host its Junior and Adult Tennis Competitions from Sunday 18th Aug until Saturday 24th Aug.

The junior tournament is one of the county’s largest competitions with over 250 juniors playing in a variety of age group competitions throughout the week.
