Game, set and match! Pupils learn tennis skills from Burnham coaches

-

Coaches from Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club have visited a local school to give youngsters tips and advice on learning the game.

Coaches Vinny Duddy and Craig Phillips visited West Huntspill Primary School to take the children through some fun tennis games, skills and drills.

Vinny told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The kids were really great, with all of them showing an interest in playing tennis.”

“The visit was part of the 2013 School Blitz which has seen the coaches visit all the local schools in Burnham trying to promote tennis and the Avenue Tennis Club.”

The Avenue Tennis Club has eight floodlit courts, four astra and four hard, and offers a wide range of tennis from competitive league play to fun social tournaments along with organised social play throughout the week.

Meanwhile, the club’s Barry Ramsden will be running a Family Quiz Night this Saturday (June 22nd) at the club from 7pm in aid of Save the Children – all are welcome to attend.
