Car left embedded in wall after crash at Burnham’s Tesco store

-

A motorist was lucky to escape with minor injuries after her car was left embedded in the wall of Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco supermarket following a crash on Monday (November 18th).

Police and fire crews were called to the store in Ben Travers Way after a motorist briefly lost control of her Volkswagen, sending it crashing into a wall.

Ambulance spokesman Dave Rogers told Burnham-On-Sea.com that one person in the car had suffered “minor injuries” and was treated at the scene.

An eyewitness said the lady inside said her foot had slipped on one of the car’s pedals as she drove through the car park at the north end of the store.

Tesco’s staff cordoned off the area while the structure of the building was assessed after a large crack appeared in the wall, as pictured.
