Two arrests after alcohol theft at Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store

Police have arrested two men who allegedly tried to flee from Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco supermarket with hundreds of pounds of alcohol.

Three police cars rushed to the store in Ben Travers Way at 3.45pm on Sunday, as pictured here.

Officers held two men and seized a large quantity of alcohol which had been loaded into baskets to be taken away.

Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Two men entered the store and attempted to steal alcohol. They have been arrested in connection with the incident.”
