Burnham-On-Sea’s MP notched up her 500th surgery on Saturday (December 28th).

Tessa Munt reached the milestone when she held her latest surgery in the village post office in Meare, near Glastonbury.

Tessa’s team believes the 500 milestone may represent the largest number of surgeries held by any MP at this stage in a parliamentary term.

Tessa runs 11 surgeries each month in the main towns and villages across the constituency, as well as a programme of additional surgeries in smaller, more isolated communities.

She also makes home visits to those who are unable attend her surgeries for health, mobility or transport reasons.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This part of Somerset is a beautiful place to live, but accessing services can often be problematic.”

“Those who do not have the use of a car, are living off the bus route, the elderly, the less mobile and those on low incomes face particular difficulties.”

“Everyone should be able to speak to their MP about problems and Government policies. That’s why I feel it is so important to make the time to meet people around my patch, so locals can easily come and see me if they wish.”

Tessa holds her regular monthly surgeries in Axbridge, Burnham-On-Sea, Cheddar, Chilcompton, Glastonbury, Highbridge, Meare, Shepton Mallet, Street, Wedmore and Wells. To find out details about these and additional surgeries, see www.tessamunt.org or call Tessa’s office on 01934 710748.
