Burnham-On-Sea MP backs local tourism in visit to trade meeting

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP has this week demonstrated her support for local tourist businesses during a visit to a trade meeting.

Tessa Munt attended a reception in Parliament hosted by BALPPA, the non profit-making trade association which represents the interests of owners, managers, suppliers and developers in the UK’s commercial leisure parks and piers.

She got a chance to discuss the state of the local tourist economy with the group’s CEO, Paul Kelly and Bob O’Connor, its Chairman.

Afterwards, she told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was important to attend this meeting because this organization does a huge amount in helping its members, many of whom are in star local tourist areas like Brean, Cheddar and Wells in Somerset.”

“I look forward to working with BALPPA in the future together with those locally in the tourism industry – hopefully with some better weather this summer to bring in the crowds.”
