A new community theatre company is set to launch in Burnham-On-Sea next month.
The Princess Theatre Company is being launched by The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.
It will work in close collaboration with the existing Princess Playwright Group and will produce and perform original and new writing at the theatre.
The new group is seeking local people who are interested in joining to fill a wide range of roles – not only actors.
“No experience is necessary and there will be no cost for the sessions. Anyone passionate about theatre or just wanting to see what it’s all about is welcome to attend the first session on Thursday 3rd October, which will be a chance to find out more information and to meet the group,” said Kim Cook, who is setting up the group.
“As we already had an established playwright group, we all thought it was a shame that we didn’t have our own in-house theatre company to perform the writer’s work.”
“We hope to develop a collaborative approach where members can write, act and direct if they wish or take a more supportive role such as costume or sound and lighting.”
