The Chairwoman of Burnham-On-Sea’s Town Team has stepped down from her role this week.

Beverley Milner Simonds was re-elected Chairwoman at the group’s annual general meeting last month.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I have decided to step down as Chair as I think the drive in the Town Team now is different to when it was proposed and formed 15 months ago.”

“I want to continue to work on the work packages that received the £10,000 funding from the Department for Communities and Local Government as I believe that they can deliver lasting change to the town centre. I am still committed to the ethos of a Town Team and believe in Burnham.”

The £10,000 was secured last autumn to deliver a number of improvements in Burnham town centre.
