A Burnham-On-Sea guesthouse is changing hands as its owners retire.

Tom and Shirley Ashton are retiring after 15 years running the Warren Guesthouse in Berrow Road.

The property has been sold to a businessman who is taking it on as a private home, meaning the guesthouse will close.

Tom told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve had a superb 15 years and thank our guests for their support, but the time has now come to retire.”

The couple will continue to live in the town and Tom added: “We love Burnham and couldn’t imagine leaving after more than 30 years in the area. I will also continue to be involved with Somerset Tourism Association and BIARS.”

Chris Way, Residential Manager at agents Greenslade Taylor Hunt, said: “We are pleased this prestigious property has changed hands in a difficult market. The new owner, from Preston, has been searching for a quality Victorian house in the area and is delighted to be taking it on.”
