Highbridge Zumbathon raises laughs and funds for Save The Children!

-

A unique event organised by two charity fundraisers from Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge has raised vital funds for Save The Children.

A dozen people supported the Zumbathon at Highbridge Community Hall in Market Street on Saturday, raising £100 for the charity.

It was held as part of a year of events being organised by Nicola Noad, from Sparks Way in Highbridge and Tamara Ellis, from Highbridge Road in Burnham, as they take on 12 challenges in 12 months to help 12 charities and raise £1,200.

The duo teamed up with Burnham’s DanceFit Studio to hold Saturday’s Zumbathon.

“The zumba was brilliant fun and I am delighted that we raised £100 for Save The Children. Three challenges are complete and we’ve now raised over £900 so far!” Nicola told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Zumba is a dance fitness program started by a Colombian dancer and choreographer during the 1990s. It involves dance and aerobic elements.
