Burnham-based Fibromyalgia group celebrates second anniversary

-

Burnham-based support group Fibromyalgia Somerset celebrated its second birthday in style by not only having a birthday party but celebrating International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day on Monday (12th May).

Members of the group wore their colour, purple, and we they also hope to have raised some more awareness of the debilitating condition that is Fibromyalgia/ME.

A member of the group told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Fibromyalgia/ME is a debilitating condition that is often misunderstood and by raising awareness we hope that we can let people know how it effects sufferers everyday life.”

“The party was a success and it was lovely to see some local councillors, the Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, and representatives from Highbridge Medical Centre.”

“It was lovely to see so many people there, and fun was had by all. Our group meetings are held every Monday, except bank holidays, from 1.30pm-3.30pm at the Somerset Skills and Learning Centre, the mobile unit at the back, in Princess Street, Burnham.”
