Burnham youngster wins medal at Taekwondo Welsh Championships

-

A young martial arts enthusiast from Burnham-On-Sea has won a medal at a regional national tournament.

Max Bradley, 10, only took up Taekwondo two years ago but is showing huge promise, having recently earned his blue belt training at Gemini Tae Kwon-Do in Cheddar.

He travelled to Cardiff on Sunday where he won a silver medal in the TAGN Welsh Championships for Tag Team Sparring.

Mum Sarah told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are so proud of him – he has done so well!”

“He took part in the World Championships last year which were a bit too soon but he enjoyed competing and was keen to take part in this competition.”

Max said: “All the teams competed against each other, then the winners competed in the finals. It was hard, but it felt really awesome to win my first medal.”

Max, who is a pupil at St Andrew’s School, will be presented with his medal at a celebration assembly this week.
