Burnham-On-Sea Motor Club has presented a cheque for £500 to the crew of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

The funds were raised at the club’s annual Andy Simm Memorial Classic Car Tour which was held over the summer.

The money was handed over to the air crew when the helicopter landed as part of National Air Ambulance Week.

“Shortly after the presentation, the crew was called out to a job, so everyone was able to see it take off and experience the amazing down-draft of the helicopter as it took to the skies,” said a spokesman, who added that the charity was very grateful for the generous donation.
