Motorbike enthusiasts in Burnham-On-Sea have this week paid tribute to a biker who has died in an accident.

Adrian Roy Barber, 64, of Bridgwater, died in the Timberscombe area of Minehead following an incident on the A396 on a downhill section of Cutcombe Hill at approximately 2.45pm Wednesday (Novermber 19th).

Phil Hayward of Burnham Bike Knights said: “We would like to send our deepest condolences to the family – he will be sadly missed in the biking scene to those who knew him.”

A joint statement issued by Mr Barber’s family added: “Adrian was a devoted family man, he adored his three children, two grandchildren, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews.”

“He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was always an active man and had many hobbies and interests throughout his life, from rugby, carnival, karate, squash, swimming, running and cycling.”

“His most recent hobby was his new Matchless motorcycle which was his pride and joy. It was the same make and model his father had owned in the 1960’s and had brought back many happy memories for him.”

Officers are still keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the collision and is able to help our investigation. Anyone able to help is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101.
