Blood bike volunteer visits Burnham-On-Sea W.I. ladies

-

Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Womens Institute have this week been hearing about a volunteer-run emergency blood transport service.

Rod Sinclair from Freewheelers visited the W.I. at Burnham Community Centre in Berrow Road, as pictured here.

“He gave a very interesting talk and the members found out a lot about this worthwhile charity,” said spokeswoman Brenda Adams.

“Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service is a registered charity that provides a free out-of-hours motorcycle courier service to hospitals in the South West of England.”

“All the riders and administration staff are volunteers and this lifesaving service to the NHS is provided free of charge and is funded entirely by public donation and sponsorship.”
