This tiny young blue tit has been rescued from a garden in Burnham-On-Sea after falling out of its nest and narrowly avoiding becoming a cat’s dinner.

The youngster was spotted struggling to crawl up a brick wall to reach its nest in Palmer’s Close earlier this week, as pictured here.

After several unsuccessful attempts to reach the nest, watched by several cats at the bottom of the wall, the owners managed to scoop him up and contacted Secret World Wildlife Centre, who recommended he was taken to the safety of the centre.

“This young bird is one of many that are currently being looked after by our carers,” a spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“He will be released in a few weeks’ time back into the area where he came from when he’s built up strength and learnt to fly.”

The centre is currently busy with all manner of feathery and furry youngsters, requiring staff and volunteers to provide around-the-clock care.
