Burnham and Weston promoted at national tourism exhibition

-

A team from Burnham’s ‘Project Coach’ initiative, set up to promote the town to coach travellers and operators, attended the Best Of British and Ireland Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

The Burnham duo – Ian Jefferies and Les Barber – worked in partnership at the show with Weston’s tourism group Love Weston under the joint brand of ‘Love Weston, Love Burnham, Love the seaside of the M5.’

The show ran over two days with many coach operators and destinations being promoted to thousands of show visitors.

BiARS Business and Tourism Manager Ian Jefferies said: “The partnership between Burnham and Weston worked really well again and the area as a whole hopefully will have gained from some great destination marketing carried out at the event. Thanks also go to Weston General Hospital for loaning us Phoenix the Donkey for the show!”

Burnham’s Project Coach Destination Manager Les Barber added: “It was a fantastic opportunity to build on the relationships formed with the many coach operators that come to Burnham already. Many leads were gained to attract new operators to our town. Quite a few have shown interest in putting Burnham into their tour programmes and we’ll be working hard to follow these up.”
