New book shop set to open next week in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Burnham-On-Sea book-lovers will have a feast of reading available to them when the town’s Rotary Club opens its annual charity bookshop later this month.

The book shop will be situated at 62 The High Street in the former Watermark Wealth Management premises towards the northern end of the High Street – a move from 28b High Street, between West Coast Properties and Burnham Goldsmiths, last year.

During the first week of the school half-term holiday period from 27th May to 31st May the shop will be open daily, except Sunday, from 10am until 4pm.

Thereafter, it will open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday until the main holiday season begins in mid-July.

The club has a good stock of books to sell, but donations of DVDs, CDs and books in good condition, especially paperbacks, will be welcomed at the shop when open.

The club regrets that it is no longer able to collect books, and that VHS videos, vinyl records and cassette tapes are not required, as there is almost no demand for them. All proceeds will be used by the Rotary Club for local charitable purposes.

Ashley Edwards, the bookshop organiser, said: “The Club is very grateful to Watermark Wealth Management for making the premises available.”
