Two year-old boy locked in car is rescued by Burnham fire crew

-

Fire crews have rescued a two-year-old boy who became stranded in a locked vehicle in a Burnham-On-Sea car park on Friday (April 18th).

Firefighters were called to Burnham’s Tesco store in Love Lane just before 1pm after the parents of the boy reported he was locked in their Ford Focus.

Station officer Ian Hazleton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The parents had accidentally left the car’s keys on the front seat and then shut the door which automatically locked the vehicle.”

“We forced entry by smashing the front passenger window, allowing the boy to be released and reunited with his relieved parents,” he added.

The parents, who are from Bristol and were visiting Brean for the day, were shaken by the incident and “incredibly grateful.”
