photos: VIPs join 250 people at cancer charity's ball near Burnham
250 people - including two VIPs - attended a fun-filled ball near
Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday evening (December 6th) to raise funds
for a breast cancer support charity.
annual Somerset Breakthrough Breast Cancer Ball, held at the Batch
Country House in Lympsham, had a circus theme this year with the
name 'Night At The Big Top'.
of the guests attended in their own fun-themed costumes. In addition
to a fire throwing demonstration, there was a pole fitness show
from Pole Essence, pictured right, a dance act from Burnham's
DanceFit Studio, and a circus routine from Paulos Circus.
VIP guests were among the audience, including the former athlete
Donna Fraser, a four-time Olympian and double World Championship
has herself beaten Breast Cancer after having a mastectomy. She
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I'm delighted to be supporting
such a special cause. It is lovely to see so many people here
this evening, all coming together to support the charity. As a
Breast Cancer survivor myself, I very much appreciate the work
that that the charity does."
Caddell, from TV's Sooty and Sweep Show, was also in the audience
and said he was keen to be supporting such a worthwhile cause.
Holly Macbeth, from Breakthrough Breast Cancer Somerset, said
the evening had been a huge success. "We are delighted with
how it's gone and thank everyone for their huge support this evening."
