Artistic cake to be raffled for hospice at Burnham Food Festival

-

This artistic cake will be raffled for a local charity during Saturday’s Burnham-On-Sea Food and Drink Festival.

St Margaret’s Hospice received a bursary from the organisers of the annual festival and they will have a stall outside William Hill in Victoria Street selling ‘kitchenallia’ items, together with a raffle and a separate one for this cake.

“The cake was donated by The White Cottage Restaurant after a coffee morning for us this week, which raised a staggering £1178,” said Hospice organiser Mike Perrin.

Big crowds are expected in Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday for the town’s fifth Food and Drink Festival. 92 traders will offer tastings and samples of products, which will range from local Somerset specialties like cider and cheese to Japanese cuisine and chocolate made from goat’s milk.
