Highbridge and Burnham Carnival appeals for volunteers as AGM nears

-

Highbridge and Burnham Carnival Association will be holding its AGM on Wednesday April 9th when new volunteers to help run the event are being encouraged to get involved.

The AGM will be held at 7.30pm in Burnham’s Ritz Social Club in Victoria Street and will be open to all.

“We’re looking to grow and expand our committee this year after such a successful carnival in 2013,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “We are looking for new volunteers to help with the ever-increasing workload and this is a great opportunity to be part of Burnham’s biggest annual event.”

“There are so many different jobs and roles. These range from putting road closures in place, parking the carts, marshalling, collecting, judging, programme making, organising the disabled parking and mobile catering, and fundraising throughout the year.”

“Please do come along to our AGM if you would like to discuss any part of our Carnival. If you can’t make the meeting but would like more information contact us via Treasurer Jonathan Walter on 07808 988182 or Chairman Phil New on 07747 708057.”
