One arrest during Burnham Carnival as police praise spectators

-

A man was arrested after an alleged assault outside a pub during Monday night’s Burnham-On-Sea Carnival – but police praised the overall behaviour of spectators.

Sgt Tracy Marlow of Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A man was arrested after a suspected assault at the end of the carnival, but other than that it was a good-natured evening.”

“It was great to see such a positive spirit throughout the carnival with many families enjoying themselves.”

There was a low-profile but visible police presence in Burnham town centre with more than 20 officers in place during the carnival.
