Burnham-On-Sea charity shop celebrates its first anniversary

-

Volunteers and supporters of a charity shop in Burnham-On-Sea have celebrated its first anniversary this week.

The Children’s Society shop in Burnham’s High Street opened its doors in October 2013 and has since gone from strength to strength.

The team at the shop marked the anniversary on Saturday (October 10th) with a day of celebrations, which included a visit by Disney kids character Minnie Mouse!

Store manager Maxine Williams told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been a very successful year for us here – the Burnham community has given us a warm welcome and we are so fortunate to have a great team of volunteers.”

“A big thank you goes to everyone who continues to help us, whether as volunteers or as customers.”

The prominent charity shop opened on the corner of Cross Street in place of Johnsons Dry Cleaners, which closed in 2012.
