A chimney fire led to an Easter Day call-out for Burnham-On-Sea’s fire crews.

Firefighters were called to Church Lane in East Huntspill just after 10am on Sunday when the residents raised the alarm.

A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The fire service received a call reporting a chimney fire and one fire appliance from Burnham attended.”

“Crews confirmed there was a chimney fire behind a log burner. They removed the log burner from the property and extinguished the fire using chimney gear and a hose reel jet.”

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental and there was no substantial damage.
