Donation boosts town’s Choral Society at packed Highbridge concert

-

A sell-out audience crowded into St John’s Church in Highbridge on Saturday evening (10th May) for a special Spring concert by Burnham & Highbridge Choral Society.

The popular group was given a boost at the beginning of the evening when it received a £500 donation from Burnham’s Co-Operative Funeral Care.

During the concert, talented guest Soprano soloist Mary Morgan accompanied the choir, along with a 12 piece orchestral ensemble.

The evening included stirring songs from Handel’s Messiah (Part two) and Handel’s Four Coronation Anthems, plus music from the West End musical Westside Story and other popular music.

The society’s Chairman Bev Hearn and Musical Director Nicholas Bromilow received the donation of £500 from The Co-Operative Funeral Care before the concert.

“It was a super evening and we very much appreciate the support of the audience who came along on Saturday and the generous donation which helps to keep our group running,” said a society spokesman.
