Join Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society’s ‘Come and Sing Day’

-

Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society will be holding a special ‘Come and Sing Day’ this Saturday (October 18th) when residents will be able to get involved with the group.

Choruses from Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast will be sung with conductor Nicholas Bromilow from 10am-4pm in Burnham’s St Andrew’s Church.

“It will be an opportunity to learn something new in a relaxed and fun setting,” said the group’s spokeswoman Julie Skinner.

“Come and join us for some fun by learning this piece of music and find out why interest in Hiawatha’s Wedding Feast was so great from sales of the music that, even before a single note of the work had been heard in public, Coleridge-Taylor was commissioned to write a sequel. That’s how popular it was!”

Tickets for the day cost £12 and include music hire and tea/coffee. Please provide your own lunch. For more information, contact Jane Lee on 01278 783511 or email her at jane.lee36@btinternet.com
