Burnham-On-Sea’s Pier is one of several locations across the area holding fundraising coffee mornings as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning this week.

Louise Parkin, manager of The Pavilion, will be selling coffee and cakes on Thursday morning (September 25th) and Friday morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Other events will be held on Friday (September 26th) at Co-operative Funeral Care in Adam Street from 9am-12 midday; Towans Residential Home from 2.30-4.30pm; and Brean Play at Brean Leisure Park.

Highbridge’s St John’s Church Hall will also hold an event this Friday from 10am-12 noon with the £2 tickets helping to raise funds.

And Highbridge Medical Centre will also be participating with a coffee morning of its own this Friday at the surgery, offering cakes and beverages from 10am-12.30pm in exchange for donations.

Burnham night nurses are hosting a coffee and cakes afternoon on Friday from 2 -4 pm in the conservatory at Burnham Hospital.

Jewson at Highbridge is also taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Come down for Coffee and Cake and for a chance to win our Goody Bag Raffle from 7:30 am.

Berrow Village Hall is holding a coffee morning on Friday from 10am until noon.

In Brent Knoll, Sanders Garden World will be holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning, donating 25p from the sale of any hot drink sold in its restaurants to the charity on Friday 26th September from 9am-5pm.

Another event to be held on Friday and Saturday at 59 Adam St in Burnham will see a tombola, crafts, clothes plus cakes, raffles and a lucky dip from 10am-2pm each day.

Burnham’s Princess Theatre is holding its event for Macmillan on Saturday 27th September from 10am until 2pm when all will be welcome.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship event. Last year, 51,000 people signed up to the coffee morning, raising over £10million for the charity.

Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
