Four people had a lucky escape in Highbridge on Friday evening (December 26th) after the driver of a car lost control and ploughed through a metal barrier and through a garden fence.

Police and firefighters were called to the incident in Burnham Road, Highbridge just after 10.10pm following the crash involving a Renault Mégane.

A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com the occupants of the vehicle, understood to be four people, were unhurt.

“One fire appliance from Burnham attended the collision in which a single vehicle had left the road. All persons were out of the vehicle. Crews worked with police and made the vehicle and scene safe,” he added.
