levels drop in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge is welcomed
levels in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have fallen over the past
year, according to new figures.
new statistics show 567 crimes were committed in Burnham during
the first eight months of the year, down from 647 in the same
period last year.
Highbridge there has also been a smaller fall, with 616 crimes
committed in the first eight months of 2014, compared to 634 in
the same period last year.
Andy Pritchard, pictured below, has this week cautiously
welcomed the figures. He
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Whilst we are pleased that crime
levels have shown a reduction, we are not complacent and there
will always be new priorities."

January 56, February 41, March 66, April 82, May 64, June 93,
July 83 and August 82. Over the same months in 2013, the crime
figures were January 77, February 79, March 81, April 71, May
76, June 81, July 82 and August 100.
in Highbridge, this year's stats are January 57, February 60,
March 75, April 93, May 73, June 90, July 88 and August 80. Over
the same months in 2013, the crime figures were January 83, February
52, March 83, April 74, May 79, June 83, July 97 and August 83.
