Burnham-On-Sea dog owner seeks duo who returned his lost pet

-

A Burnham-On-Sea dog owner is keen to thank two youngsters who returned his lost dog following a chase around the town centre earlier this week.

Boots, a seven month old pedigree Havanese, ran off on Tuesday evening after being scared by a clattering dustbin lid.

Owner Tony Fleming told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I was taking Boots out for her early evening walk and tied her to a steel dustbin while I moved my car.”

“But as I turned around, Boots had pulled the dustbin’s lid off and it was clattering behind her. This scared her, she ran off with her lead attached and me chasing after her.”

“She ran down down Cross Street, past the Lidl store before heading up Adam Street then John Street South where I lost her. She proceeded to run along The Esplanade and into the Morrisons car park, according to a couple who saw her.”

“They told me that two girls had been trying to catch her – she can run very fast. I went through Morrisons but still couldn’t see her or the two girls trying to help.”

“I walked along Pier Street when on the other side I saw a man and two girls who had managed to catch Boots. I thanked them so much. They said that they’d chased her and managed to catch up with her!”

“Unfortunately I didn’t manage to get their details to reward them as I was obviously so relieved at getting her back. I would like to thank them.”
