A drink driver has this week been banned from driving for 20 months after being stopped by police who had seen him drinking in a Burnham-On-Sea bar.

Roger Coles, 47, from Penmore Road in Berrow, was stopped by police and given a breath test after driving a vehicle on Wednesday, January 8th in Burnham’s Vicarage Street.

A blood test found him to be almost three times over the legal limit for alcohol, with 200mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood.

Mr Coles appeared at Taunton Magistrates Court on Monday where he also received a fine.
