Photos: Burnham-On-Sea FolkFest draws crowds to town centre
Music fans crowded streets, pubs and clubs in Burnham-On-Sea on
Saturday when dozens of live music and dance acts performed across
the town during the annual FolkFest.
said the ninth annual event, which began on Thursday,
was the 'best yet' with record crowd numbers, helped by the dry
and mild weather.
hours of live music from over 50 performers was held on Saturday
at each venue, including The Princess, Victoria, the Somerset
& Dorset, the Royal Clarence, The Waterfront and The Ritz.
addition to live music, there were also street entertainers including
human statues and stilt walkers, children's activities, dancers,
a craft market and free workshops.
Sunday, the action shifted to Burnham's Manor Gardens where there
was a traders market, KidZone, food and a bar. Musical performers
were Steve James at 1pm; Sun Dog Days at 2pm; local stars Fallen
Apples at 3pm; brilliant folk duo The Drystones at 4pm; and the
wonderfully colourful bhangra band RSVP at 5pm.
