Burnham and Highbridge Gateway club has been handed a cash injection this week.

Highbridge’s County Councillor, John Woodman, has presented a cheque for £500 to the club, which helps adults with learning disability adults.

The money will go towards the cost of the club holding annual Butlins holiday in 2015.

Gateway Club leader Barbara Thorogood accepted the money on behalf of the members. She said: “This much-appreciated donation will pay for the coach for our club’s annual holiday and is very welcome indeed.”

Mr Woodman added: “I cannot think of a more deserving cause than the Gateway Club, whose organisers and volunteers work hard with these disadvantaged adults.”

The Gateway Club is a registered charity and meets regularly at the Burnham Area Youth Centre in the town’s Cassis Close.
