Burnham-On-Sea’s traditional August Bank Holiday Monday summer fete is to be held indoors because of the threat of forecast wet weather.

Monday’s fete will be held inside at St Andrew’s Church Hall and the Methodist Church Hall in College Street from 11am.

Tea and cakes will be served in both venues and there will be a selection of games and stalls in both halls instead of at the normal location in the Manor Gardens.

Organisers say the threat of torrential rain during the day has prompted the move inside to the new venues.

The traditional event is run by the Friends of Burnham Hospital and raises thousands of pounds for the town’s hospital.
