Burnham-On-Sea Police holding ‘Safer Internet Day’ event today

-

Burnham-On-Sea Police will be joining hundreds of other organisations across the country in holding an event to mark Safer Internet Day today (Tuesday) and promote the safe and responsible use of technology.

Safer Internet Day 2014 is being held on February 11th, with the theme of ‘Let’s create a better Internet together’, offering the opportunity to focus on both the creative things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we all play in helping to create a better internet.

Burnham Town Centre Beat Team will be holding a safer internet themed beat surgery between 11:30am-2pm at the library in Burnham-On-Sea and they will be on hand to answer questions and give online safety advice.

There is also a display in the window of Burnham Library in Princess Street from 7th-14th February with useful tips and information promoting safe Internet use.

The annual event is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre to promote the safe and responsible use of online technology and mobile phones for children and young people.
