A Burnham-On-Sea runner has raised over £18,000 for charity by completing scores of races across the UK – including yesterday’s Great North Run.

Jason Vickers, pictured, was among 57,000 runners taking part in the 13.1-mile run on the Tyneside.

Jason, who is a familiar face at Burnham’s Tesco store where he works, always runs in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

“I completed Sunday’s race in a time of two hours, 28 minutes and five seconds which was slower than last time because of the warm weather – it was a tough run,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“But it was worth it – I raised £1,210 from sponsorship pledges and collections at Tesco over the past week, taking my overall total for the MS Society to £18,210. A big thank you goes to all those who have supported me.”
