Highbridge-based fabrication company Manuflex Limited has designed and manufactured a specialist lighting rig for the newly-refurbished Holy Trinity Church in Blackford.

The unique church is octagonal in shape and the specification set by local architects Benjamin and Beauchamp called for a lighting rig that matched the shape of the church.

Features incorporated include ‘fleur de lys’ on each of the facia panels allowing for back lighting, rear panels that allow all the wiring to be concealed and the support housing to disguise the shackles that hold the rig in place.

The job was highly specialist and unique. And Manuflex Managing Director Ray Stewart says the end result has met with praise.

“When the Project Manager for Blackford Church David Sisson first saw the rig he simply said ‘wow!’,” says Ray.

“We were invited along to the rededication service last Sunday, which was led by the newly-installed Bishop of Bath and Wells the Rt Rev Peter Hancock and Burnham and Highbridge’s MP Tessa Munt.”
