Police helicopter joins search for two missing girls on Brean beach

-

A search was launched for two young girls on Sunday afternoon (May 18th) after they were reported missing by their family.

Police, Coastguards and BARB Search & Rescue were called to the beach after the two youngsters – aged 11 and 8 – went missing for over an hour a half.

A police helicopter was called in to carry out sweeps of the beach from the air, as pictured here, before the girls were successfully found.

“There was growing concern for the youngsters because their family were understandably worried about their safety,” a police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“There was a lot of relief when they were found and reunited with their family soon after 5.30pm.”
