A frail pensioner who went missing in Burnham-On-Sea has been found safe and well following a widespread search on Wednesday night.

Police officers and crews from BARB Search & Rescue were tasked with searching Burnham town centre and surrounding areas after the 72-year-old man was reported missing by his worried family.

“He had been missing more than seven hours and concern was therefore growing for his welfare. He was considered vulnerable due to a medical condition. We are relieved he was found and safe well and thank BARB for their help,” a police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
