town centre walk held by neighbourhood planning group
team of volunteers who are compiling a new Burnham-On-Sea Neighbourhood
Plan began the next phase of their consultation on Saturday (November
1st) when they held a special walk through the town.
Neighbourhood planning group held its first consultation walk
from St Andrews Church to Pier Street when local residents,
including members of the local history society, Chamber of Trade
and the neighbourhood planning steering group, cast a critical
eye over the town centre.
other things the walkers looked at were the conservation area,
examples of good and bad development, and the relation of the
High Street to surrounding areas.
Harvey, who led the walk, said: "We were able to see on the
ground some of the issues which could be covered in a neighbourhood
plan issues where we can 'add value' to the existing policies."
next stage takes place on Tuesday when there is an open workshop
at Burnham Community Centre in Berrow Road at 7pm. All will be
welcome to attend and contribute to the discussion."
