Dozens of children enjoyed a pirate-themed family fun day on Burnham-On-Sea beach on Sunday (August 3rd).

The family event was held on the town’s beach next to The Pavillion in the afternoon and at the nearby Marine Cove gardens in the morning.

A number of activities were lined up, including pirate-themed games, fun workshops for children on how to become a pirate, water games and more.

A Pirate School was held at Marine Cove where 40 youngsters went though ‘pirate training’ and completed a certificate, tied a knot, made an eye patch and also learnt about bow, stern, port and starboard, walking a plank and bailing out a container.

In the afternoon more joined the fun on the beach for more games water bomb fights and navigating shark-invested waters!
