Highbridge pupil praised as a 'great ambassador' for town school

Highbridge student Taggy Parrott has been hailed as a fantastic ambassador for King Alfred School after excelling during her time on work experience with a parliamentary candidate.

The sixth form pupil helped out former soldier and Conservative politician James Heappey in his campaign to win the Wells constituency at the 2015 General Election.

Year 13 student Taggy helped out with a range of duties including writing press releases, arranging events and administration.

Back in June, Taggy co-chaired a Question Time with fellow student Sam Harkness where she followed up by asking Mr Heappey for a work experience opportunity.

In a letter to the school's head teacher, James Heappey said: "I recently had Taggy with me on work experience. What a fantastic ambassador she is for your school."

Head of Sixth Form Jonathan Gaskell said: "Taggy is a tremendous student and we are all very proud of her."
