Burnham-On-Sea fire crews rescued a pony stuck in a water-filled ditch in Lympsham on Tuesday afternoon (December 2nd).

One crew from Burnham and a specialist water rescue team from Bridgwater were sent to the village shortly after mid-day.

“Crews found one pony had been trapped for approximately one hour. The owner of the pony had contacted their vet who sedated the animal to assist with the rescue,” said a spokesman.

“Crews used a local telehandler to extricate the pony. The pony suffered minor cuts and was left in hands of its owner and the vet.”
